David Archuleta Concert
Friday, March 27, 2009
Two nights ago we were able to meet David Archuleta when he came and paid a visit to our stake during our choir rehearsal for the Temple Youth Celebration. It was so fun. Go here to read all about it. Little did we know that tonight we would be invited to his concert. Richard and Karla Parkinson, who are our Choir Coordinators for the Temple Youth Celebration, have worked with David Archuleta for several years. Richard is David's voice coach and was in charge of this concert, and has been very instrumental in the success of David through American Idol and after. He is currently waiting to see if he will be producing a Christmas Album for David. Yeah!
So Karla called us during Kasey's Birthday dinner and said, "I want you to get your family and meet me at the E-Center." I asked what for, and she said that she had David Archuleta tickets for our family. Are you kidding me? We were so excited! We hurried to finish dinner and out the door we went.
When we arrived, Karla met us and gave us the tickets, then she asked if I would pass out some business cards for David's charity, "Rising Star Outreach." So after we found our seats, I began passing out the cards to as many people as I could. Then we listened to two warm up bands who were really good, before David came out. And when David finally came out on stage, the crowd went crazy. It was so loud and all the girls were screaming. The concert was so great. We already loved David Archuleta and voted for him on American Idol, and we got his CD for Christmas, but meeting him the other night, and to see in person that he's still that same great humble sweet guy, and to see how much he has grown as a performer, was so awesome! He's truly enjoyable to listen to and he has the greatest smile.
We felt so blessed to able to have him come visit our youth the other night, and lucky that as a family we could attend his concert. We thought that was a great birthday treat for Kasey too!

Kolby was having so much fun singing the songs!
