Seeing the Everyday in Twenty Thirteen

Seeing the Everyday in Twenty Thirteen
Our lives are the sum of each moment and interaction. Each day we work, eat, laugh, teach, play, read, remember...and work at it all again the next day. Within seemingly small exchanges we find opportunity to build relationships, develop character, find joy for the price of our time. Life's most essential possibilities are realized at home. Where we share, teach, grow, learn, serve, give our best without praise or fanfare. Because every effort, every moment matters in the development of a person. Nothing is really routine. I give myself for the good of my family and find the poetry within life's daily prose by Seeing the Everyday.

Back to School Blessings

Thursday, January 6, 2011

Before school started last fall, Brady gave everyone a blessing. Brinkley wrote down as much as she could during the blessings. It was amazing witness Brady, a 18 year-old young man at the time, use his Priesthood and see that power working through him. There were many things spoken that you knew Heavenly Father was guiding him in what HE wanted us to know and to bless us with.

I loved the blessings he gave his siblings. I know there was much more said, but it's hard to remember and write it all down while he is speaking. After hearing these blessings and saying what each child needed to hear and to be blessed with, and then to hear what he blessed ME with, I was amazed. I knew and gained an even stronger testimony of the Power of the Priesthood, for I saw it work within the walls of my own home with my son who was only 18 years old. Age doesn't matter because it's the Power of God that's in charge. I have always had great faith in the Priesthood - this just strengthened it even more. I am so proud of Brady and love him for being worthy to bless our family.

Here he is at Braxley's basketball game last April. He's wearing his church clothes and has freshly cut hair. He's waiting to go to an appointment with President Bluth to be interviewed for his mission. And today, he's serving that mission! I miss him so much! I love you Brady!
