Yesterday, August 30th, was Kolby's 10th Birthday. It was a very full day of activities. Kolby opened his birthday gifts of clothes, Kung Fu Panda Wii game, Scripture Tote, three maps of the world, $20 gift card, candy and deodorant.

His teacher told the boys that starting in 5th or 6th grade it's a good idea to wear deodorant because they do get hot and sweaty playing at recess. Kolby's been all excited to wear deodorant!

As a family we went to Temple Square. We enjoyed our time visiting the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Kasey, Kolby & Braxley picked out some pictures from the distribution center to hang in their room. We had lunch at the Nauvoo Cafe.

Kolby chose a ham and cheese sandwhich. At the cafe they have roast, ham, sirloin and pork loin that they cut up (a ton of thick cut meat), your choice of cheese, choice of bread, and they put it under an oven so the cheese melts into the meat. Yum-o! Kolby also picked carrot cake for his dessert. We walked around Temple Square, went inside the Tabernacle, and toured the Church History Museum.

Afterwards, we went to Target so Kolby could spend his $20 gift card. He got a nerf blaster type gun and since it was $30, Brady helped Kolby pay for it as a birthday present for him. We went home to drop off our purchases and then Mom, Dad and Kolby went to "Thanksgiving Point." Kolby wanted to visit the Dinosaur "Museum of Ancient Life."

Dad and Kolby enjoyed the museum and I walked around the shops. We met up afterwards and had a yummy dinner in their Harvest Deli.
On the way home we drove to Draper to look at the new Temple.

We think that his Temple will be dedicated a month or so before the Oquirrh Mountain Temple will be complete by February or March. We are so blessed to be surrounded by so many Temples.
This was a great day. Kolby said it was his best birthday ever. But I think each year is the best birthday ever! We love you Kolby!
